The Roman emperor Augustus’ Arch leads you into the most beautiful part of Rimini away from the crowded beaches. This is where I once lived and learned to love one of my most favorite places in the world. It’s worth a trip to Rimini just to enjoy one of their incredible piadina’s. The piadine sandwiches are thin and airy; crispy yet soft in the middle. The fillings are dreamy. Rich stracchino cheese oozing out the sides. Peppery arugula and soft cheese is not something I would eat any other way.
An evening market at the Antica Pescheria. This is the old fish market constructed in 1747 where the fishermen hundreds of years ago used to sell their fresh catch and is now the home a vibrant evening market. Time stands still when I meet my friend Jules as we catch up from where last left off enjoying a caffe’ shakerato. We walk down the ancient cobblestone streets giggling like what seems was yesterday. That evening we bump into characters straight out of a Fellini movies. Miles and miles of colorful beach chairs dot Rimini’s vibrant and busy beaches; the perfect place to spend hours watching the show go by.
Thanks for stopping by to see some photos from Italy! I’ll be back soon with a sweet summer recipe to share!

Such a beautiful jouurney you took us on Lora. One day I wish to experience it myself, the flaky sandwich, the sights, sounds and flavors. We’ve only been to venice but there is so much more to Italy.
I love your photos of Italy; you make it so personal. I just want to go with you and visit your family and places you loved. And have one of those sandwiches.
I haven’t been to Rimini but it’s now on my list! Love your Italy photos
