We are going out of town! We have been planning this trip to NYC for quite a few years now. We weren’t sure until the last minute if we could go to the crazy snow in New York recently. I called my cousin Frankie in Brooklyn yesterday.
This is how the conversation went: Me, “Frankie, is it cool for us to come? How’s the weather?” Frankie, “Not good. Not that good (heavy Brooklyn accent).” Me, “Seriously?” Cousin Frankie, “If I were you, I’d come maybe another weekend. Yeah, you’ll get delays. Probably bad traffic.” (That’s a photo from NYC last February when my hubs went there for business.)
Then I jokingly told him we’re staying with him. He didn’t laugh. Whatever, cousin Frankie. We’re staying at a hotel.
So expect some amazing food posts. I will make you drool more than normal. I plan to eat my way through the city. Hot dogs, bagels. And whatever else I will find hot on a street corner.
In the meantime, you can try my Gooey Sticky Cinnamon Buns from the other day. I happen to think they are really cool. I mean, really cool. Thank you for all the sweet comments from y’all that also thought they were cool! Maybe you prefer a hearty soup with delicious beans and kale? Don't forget the cheesy crostini!!
I did some baking this weekend. I will post those treasures when I get back so be patient!

In the meantime, here are some photos so you don’t forget me and my goofy self!!lol
This is a care package from my mother-in-law. This was not going to us. She was sending this to her little brother in Rome from her house near Como this summer. Dear Lord, my head is spinning! If you are a vegetarian…close your eyes! I’m sorry. Capicollo. Pancetta. Salame. She.made.it.all. I’m not kidding. Seriously amazing woman.
My husband’s Zio Antonio likes to search for porcini near his house in Aosta. He likes to brag how he goes over the limit of what you can pick up. I mean, one mushroom and you are over the limit. LOOK at the size of this thing! Beautiful! We ate porcini in every thing the last week we were there last summer.Hmm…what else could I show you?
Paolo! One of my all-time favorite friends! When I look at this photo I giggle! Hubby emailed it to use to show us how he dressed for their business trip last year to NYC. Paolo works with my husband. He is always joking. Always happy. Boisterous and gives real hugs. Makes great cappuccinos and is a true friend to us. *He’s also single, girls.
Here we are in Aosta last summer. My brown hair and there was snow in the mountains. I was totally not prepared for the cold that happened so quickly while we were there.
And some lovely ravioli from my darling. I will talk more about them when I come back. This is my FAVORITE ravioli he makes. *swoon*
Can I just say: what happened to McDonalds here in the States? This is what you get for breakfast in Milan for only 1.70 Euro. Look at that cappuccino!
I will be back around on Wednesday! I will be visiting your blogs and catching up on what has been happening in your world.
I wish you all a wonderful rest of the weekend and beginning of the week!! THANK YOU for visiting me. Your comments mean the WORLD to me
